Care Package

Neil Young Plucked away at 'Harvest moon' while I put together
a Care Package for Tone's sister K.
Chemo!!
I hummed along, giving sound to my breath.

Then I sat with my tea at the window and read up on Oxygenation
from Healing with Wholefoods.

"Oxygen destroys germs, viruses, amoebas, paarasites, fungi and yeasts,
and resolves pathogenic moisture (dampness) in the form of edena,
mucus, cystic tumors and arterial plaque." pg.77 Healing with Wholefoods.

I added Organic Miso paste, an ayurvedic detox tea and a herbal sleep blend to my parcel.

"Generally more oxygen is needed by those who are overweight,
sluggish or who have Candidiasis, edema, heart disease or viral/ tumorous/ infectious conditions
(eg: Cancer, M.S, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, AIDS.) "pg.78

I added Barley Greens, Ginseng and I took in a deep breath.

As I put together the package
three People came in with stories of Cancer.

Nat, who's sister is on her last breath, her sister who is 35, my age
was lying in hospital receiving another dose of
chemo as Nat filled her 'hospital basket'.
We exchanged sympathies, compassion, sad smiles.
I slipped in a couple of cocoa balls while she wasn't looking.
What were they going to do, it seemed so ridiculous but
I did it anyway.

An old man came in to buy his 'special herbs',
" I gotta the cancer, I take-a the herbs, no the chemicals,
no the chemicals, I too old, I don't know how long I gotta the cancer, but IT not gotta me yet."
His deep set eyes sparkled like bits of precious stone.

And L's sister came in to buy things for L.
I had not met L's sister before but the resemblance was strong.
Oh, our lovely elegant L, who's parents both in thier 90's are still alive,
who last year lost her daughter
and this year, she herself was diagnosed with Cancer.
I asked her sister to mention we were thinking of her.
Would she remember? With all on her mind why would she remember?
I asked her anyway.

Today's three stories add to the large number of people
who affected by Cancer come into the store, to buy organic food
to buy herbal teas and linseed and quark and ginseng,
Shitake mushrooms, Unrefined Aloe Vera juice, micro algae and saltless sauerkraut.

Other people came in, some just to look at all the strange and interesting products,
some commented on the nice smell, one man asked if we sold cigarettes
someone asked if we sold coke...
Sun streamed gloriously through both ends of our beautiful store
I drank my tea and looked at all in front of me.
Quietly I gave gratitude for the store and all its abundance,
our customers and all their stories. I sat in the window
with my tea and for a moment everything was still
and all that moved was the faint breeze of salt water air.
