Dear Lynn,
I was just remembering when you first walked into the store.
You had just arrived from Byron Bay, you were tall, elegant and striking.
You were new to the area, here for your daughter.
You were lost as to where to shop and we were somehow
familiar to you.
You came in weekly for goats milk yoghurt
quinoa and millet.
Soon our conversations became closer
as we both thought
millet tasted like the sun.
Lynn, lovely dear Lynn,
You shared your heart with us
and we saw you through many adversities.
Adversities you faced with grace.
Lynn, you lost your beautiful daughter
You cared for your aging parents
and you suffered your own blow with cancer.
Lynn, your family came in on monday for lunch
I asked how you were
and their answer sunk in my belly.
I made you a small meal
I thought it might help.
somehow.
a gesture.
Lynn, your friend just came into the store
She knew us from your stories.
She said she felt you in the store,
She sat in the tea house with tears.
Lynn,
dear lovely Lynn,
We will miss your elegant gate
you beautiful white hair
your style
your slender hands
your enquires
you familiar way.
We will will miss you
Millet will always taste like the sun
and always remind me of you.
Rest Lynn, in Peace now.
love from
Eddy and Nada and Tony
The elwood general store.
