This Stormy Weather

Melbourne has experienced a
series of big storms
there were many exciting stories..

and on Saturday
Melbourne was pelted again
this time with giant hail
the size of lemons

Again,
there were stories of
cars that washed away
and were dented and smashed.

and of city streets that were flooded,
whooshing people away..

And stories of
skylights that crashed in as
trees snapped in half..

-the Crisis Accommodation Centre
in West melbourne had 51 windows broken
and all the homeless people were evacuated-

We only heard about the damage 2nd hand
our street flooded
like it did last week,
only my bike suffered damage
its brake line snapped..

here is a part of my friend Taiig's exciting story.
It was posted up on the window of his class room
which was thankfully safe from harm.

Splish splash slosh

This time 2 weeks ago
Melbourne was flooded.
The Bay was choppy
and our little street became
the Venice of Elwood

and the people of the town became
Socially warmed by global warming?!

Elwood had always been prone to a flood
a small historical publication of the suburb
is aptly called Flood fire and fever .
History repeats itself yet again.

It was a fast quick downpour that stopped us in out tracks

The flood went up to the step of the Store...

and rose..

and rose..

and rose...

Cars became wave making machines,

bikes seemed to ride on water,

and people danced in the rainy streets!
