Gifted

Here is the lovely Aya
Aya is from Japan
She is a wonderful cook
She used to make for the store,
green tea muffins filled with red bean paste
or pumpkin, she would use black sesame seeds
and a by product of tofu in her mix.
I have never ever tasted anything like the food she makes
her gift is something else..

Today she came in with a gift for Tony
She is moving with her partner who is french
and also chef, over the river to the north side of town
closer to her work. We will miss them both.

Her gift is 'the trio tribet'
from 'Zakkaya on Johnson street'.

A perfect example of Japanese simplicity and design.
It's for hot dishes, kettles, tea pots, pots etc.
Three pieces of wood tied together with leather
expandable for any size dish.
Just perfect for someone who drinks pots and pots of tea
and who serves up pots and pots of food
to anyone who enters his home.

Thank you Aya.

The Board Room Table

When the big decisions need to be made
we take it to the board room table...

We get drunk on Genmai Cha
argue over wakame salad
and figure it out with awase miso.

Full bellies and meeting has ended
now what was it we had a meeting for in the first place?

Hehe, just kidding, just scouting cooking tips!!
