Purple Smoothie

When one Google's 'Blackberry' it takes a while to get the actual
Rubus fruticosus aggregate
and not a leading 'smartphone device solution'.
Both things are pests but these ittle babies are
from SunnyCreek Organic
and are at the end of the season. Perfect breakfast smoothie material.
They actually are Black Raspberries
yet check out the colour they end up in the blender!

after she has packed her shopping into it.

" They are from my sisters tree, its famous in Elwood-
She sits and watches all the neighbourhood kids
climb it and pick mandi's while she breast feeds!
haha, it's a classic"

When you've got lemons.....

My friend just gifted me these two lemons
from her partners tree.
Even though we at the General Store have
access to lots of organic fruit and veg,
receiving fruit from someone's tree is just the best.
Home grown.
Home made.
My friend is going to make Lemon tarts with her glut of lemons.



Once when I was wandering about the streets
with another friend
they said to me;
'What is a neighborhood without a neighborhood lemon tree?
It's the clincher, I know I can move to an area when there is a
neighborhood lemon tree.'

for 3 dollars a kilo
and putting the money towards the vessel the Pelican
and its next project.

It's really true that when you have Lemons-

I just think these are so cool

they are from an organic farm up in north
so tropical
so alluring
we had a whole box
they came wrapped in purple tissue paper

the thick skin peels easily away
its like soft and melted leather
the flesh breaks into soft light pieces
and the pips are hard and crunchy

added one to a juice
now
we only have 2 left.

A surprising tropical fruit
with a strangely comforting name
matched the uncanny
last few warm summery days
where warm breezes wove giant clouds
off shore, there was something,
as lovely as the days were,
that was not quite right about it all.
